Funks, Favs and Friends

Long time no speak. If I actually upload this week it will be a miracle because recently I have been in such a huge funk with my blog and what I’m doing with it. I started it off focusing on mental health, then it become more beauty and lifestyle-related and now I am lost. I have always said I will choose quality over quantity and I think that’s why I haven’t uploaded in two weeks, I feel like I have lost my theme and niche and in result, I feel like the worlds shittest blogger. I have always felt confident with the content I upload, obviously I’m not the best, but it’s definitely something I’m not bad at. But now I’m doubting myself so much and there are days where I just want to pack it all in but then I receive your comments and it makes it all worthwhile, so thank you to everyone for being so fab and bearing with me whilst I’m being a moany bitch.

I don’t really know what today’s post is going to be, it’s a bit of a mess but I have a ridiculous amount of half-written drafts waiting to be completed and to be honest, they all seem so fake. I have been hunting for inspiration of a new style post or new series ideas but nothing feels right when I feel so shit. So it’s time to be vulnerable and admit that things are getting a bit too much and that I am struggling with juggling life, work and blogging and I’ve ended up becoming so self-destructive and I hate it.

This month in particular, I have been clutching onto every single bit of happiness with both hands so to stop this post being a total flop I’ll give you a mini favourites post. Enjoy!

Coffee trips always seem to make their way in my posts in one way or another and last weekend me and Phoebe went to Cafe Lucca in Bath and ate the most delicious Buddha Bowl and drank so much coffee. I typically eat my body weight in carbs or cake so for me to chose something that involved veggies is a shocker. Did we buy it just for the photo? Potentially. But it was so lush and defo worth trying!!

chilling-

Another obvious favourite is Netflix, more specifically The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. Everyone and their mother has been preaching about this show and only two episodes in I know why. It is SO fucking good. I haven’t watched the original so I haven’t got much to compare with but it’s a lot darker than I thought it would be and gets you gripped within the first episode! Without giving too much away, it is about a half-witch who is approaching her 16th birthday and has to choose between whether she turns full witch or human and there are so many twists along the way. I promise it’s not as cheesy as it sounds haha!!

It is a little premature including this in a fav post considering it hasn’t happened yet but Las Iguanas are relaunching in Bath this week and they have invited me to the party and I am so excited to glam up and have a little blogger evening so keep your eyes peeled for a blog post! I just know it’s going to be a highlight of the month!

Now can we talk about how freaking good Little Mix’s new album is?! It is sassy, fierce and makes me feel all the right things. I have never really been that into Little Mix’s music, I have always found it cheesy and a little too teen for me. Don’t kill me. But this album is so good and is all about female empowerment – my fav song has to either be Joan or Arc or Strip!

The last thing that’s made me happy this month is my friends and family. There have been people in my life who I thought would always be there but surprise surprise, they’re not. But for the ones who’s stuck around and have been absolutely amazing at dealing with my moods, thank you thank you thank you. Another little shout out to all the babes who have been my top commenters, your support doesn’t go unnoticed: Hannah from JustHannahHere, Erin from MakeupbyErin, Jamie from Dontgiveajam, Shannon from Kittyp0p and Chloe from Midnight Wanderer. You’re all the best and make this all worthwhile.

If you made it until the end then I applaud you, maybe next week I’ll up my game and be a good content creator.

Until next time,

I know what it feels like to get stuck in a rut and feel so stuck creatively so hopefully you will be able to get out of it soon! I feel like everyone is going through a bit of a rut at the moment anyway so hopefully we can all help each other to get out of it. I would love to see a travel guide of places to visit in Bath and also a list of cafes/restaurants that you would recommend – perhaps a list from super informal with coffee to super posh, anniversary dinner restaurants. I love your style so perhaps an OOTW post? Also, good places to take Instagram photos – I notice you and Phoebe use the same street a lot. xx

We all go through funks but the good thing is they won’t last forever ❤ I must listen to the new Little Mix album, I don't listen to them religiously but some of their songs are catchy x

I feel you with the funk, girl! I think I go through it every year around this time, but especially this year because of all my health issues seemingly piling up at once and just drowning me. I hope the both of us can crawl out and get our happiness back soon 💛 I highly recommend you watch the original Sabrina series cause it’s wonderful haha but I love the Netflix show too. I’ll definitely have to give that album a listen too- I haven’t listened to them in a while cause my old car didn’t have a radio (tragic). Thanks for the recognition at the end 🤗 you’re so sweet! Keep your head up xo

I’ll always always say this but your blog is for YOU. Talk about whatever the hell you want, I promise it’ll be the thing that sets you free. This is your space, we follow you because of YOU – we enjoy and support whatever you talk about, it doesn’t matter. Just post whatever comes to mind, none of us are perfect and neither are our blogs – I feel like all I do is ramble these days but that’s okay !! I enjoy it and that’s what counts. Also, LM5 is INCREDIBLE. My favourites are American Boy and Monster In Me 💜 Hope you’re okay lovely xxx

Thank you angel I so needed to hear this so thank you so so much!! I get so worried that I don’t have a niche or a specific theme I’m trying my best to stop giving a fuck really haha! I’m literally so obsessed with their album which is so surprising as I never considered myself as a huge little mix fan before! Thank you so much once again for the lovely comment! Xxxx

It’s either all or nothing with me. Loads of ideas but then non of the pictures come out well and I throw my toys out the pram and just sulk like mad. I totally get you. I think maybe you should take a little break and come back super refreshed? Come back when you miss it not when you think you should. Does that make sense? Blog for you no one else and screw what other people may or may not like, write about whatever you feel like whenever you feel like it.
