Celebrations & Cocktails

As you are reading this it will have been a week since Las Iguanas relaunched their Bath restaurant and I was invited to an evening out with a plus one to experience their new makeover and spoiler alert, it was fabulous!!

Disclaimer: Even though I was kindly invited to this event, all opinions are my own and this isn’t an ad!

The Latin American restaurant hosted a party in celebration of their 21st birthday in Bath with a sparkling new look! The restaurant decor was so quirky – upstairs there’s a large tropical plant wall and the glow of neon to conjure up tropical climates. Downstairs  Casa Iguanas is the perfect spot to enjoy happy hour cocktails.

The restaurant is two story which is amazing because the bar area is separate to the dining area, making it perfect for a Saturday night with the girls or a relaxed evening meal. We were treated to an evening full of cocktails and indulged in a two-course meal and it was so divine!

I started the evening off with their new cocktail Berry Collins and it was potentially one of the nicest cocktails I’ve drunk. You know sometimes you drink an incredibly overpriced cocktail and you taste no alcohol so that it’s basically like watered down juice? You definitely did not get this with LI’s cocktails, oh boy were they strong haha!! If you are local to Bath you definitely need to pop in and try one, the best part is they’re 2 for 1 all day every day – how amazing?! Later on that evening, we tried Berry Acai Sour (can you see a berry theme here haha?), that is also a new addition to the menu and it just threw my mind back to warmer times spent on a beach somewhere sunny.

As we were shown upstairs to the restaurant I was blown away by the amazing service we received. Straight away we were asked about any dietary requirements or whether we need a vegetarian menu – which is something you rarely get asked on arrival, it is so so refreshing to see more acknowledgement being shown to specific diets and requirements.

For starters, I opted for the breadboard of course and it was one of the prettiest and tastiest breadboards I’ve ever tasted! Granted, my eyes are much bigger than my stomach. But I obviously devoured the whole thing with no struggle haha!

As mains arrived I clearly had the spiciest most carb-olicious Chilli Con Carne and it was gorgeous. There were huge chunks of beef and the flavours were phenomenal! Another thing I love is that you can opt for different levels of spice, which is fab if you’re a spice queen like me! For the purpose of this blog post I probably should have ordered a more photogenic main but nonetheless, it was absolutely amazing and they are very generous with their portion sizes considering the price point is very purse friendly!

Lastly, we gave in to the temptation of the dessert menu and devoured so many Churros. You can either order 3 or 6 and obviously, we ordered 6 and they arrived in the cutest paper bag that reminded me of a fairground- it was such a nice touch! Admittedly I’m obsessed with eating Churros all year around, but they are well suited for the festive season and is everything you need after walking around the hectic streets during Bath Christmas Market.

We finished our evening downstairs soaking up the Latin American atmosphere (and a few too many cocktails). We were invited to take part in a cocktail masterclass where the bar manager was giving cocktail tutorials to help you master your Caipirinha skills. How cool is that?!

Overall I just wanted to give the team at Las Iguanas Bath a huge thanks, I had the most magical evening and I am in love with the new makeover! If you are local to Bath you defo need to check them out even if it’s just for a cheeky cocktail and an insta – you won’t be disappointed!

Thank you all so much for reading, I am sorry the photo quality isn’t my best, iPhones and low light don’t mix very well!

Until next time,
