Good morning huns, we are back today with a body positivity post! Last week me and Chan booked another girls trip away, but this time we are going to Greece, which is super super exciting but along with excitement there’s also a lot of anxiety. I like to think I am a much more confident person than what I was a year or two ago, but wearing bikinis still terrifies me because of the whole ‘beach body ready’ shit. It is time we all realise that our bodies are beach body ready already, we don’t need to lose weight, get toned and shave to be acceptable on a beach.
As soon as we booked the holiday my first thought was ‘oh shit I better start dieting and working out, I only have three months to suddenly get hot’ but then I also thought fuck it. Why should I ruin my mental health and be miserable for months on end just so I can be skinnier in a bikini? Because I know that if I end up doing yet another shitty crash diet I will just go back to having an awful relationship with food.
The truth is when you are on holiday no-one really gives a shit at whether you have stubbly legs, stretch marks on your bum or if your belly rolls when you sit down. They are either too busy enjoying their holiday or worrying about their own insecurities. We live in such a difficult society and it frustrates me that body shaming is still a thing!! I am at my happiest weight, yes I could be a lot healthier but I am okay at this weight, it just isn’t societies idea of ‘perfect’. If you know me personally you’ll know I am short, I like to say 5’3″ but really its more 5’1″ haha. But along with my short build is a fairly average sized bum and thick thighs and medium sized boobs. So I am okay, but not as petite as I would like to be for my height.
My biggest body positive tip for getting over bikini fear is to buy a stunning bikini, get that gorg red bikini you have been swooning over for so long. Or get something that hides and shows off different parts. High waisted bikini bottoms, with a push-up top used to be my go to!
Okay so this seems like a bit of an odd one but wearing makeup can help. I know when you’re on your hols the last thing you want is to wear a face full of makeup, but even a bold lip and bit of waterproof mascara can give you all of the confidence in the world! I recently watched Louise Pentland’s video where she spoke about body confidence when swimming and sunbathing and she was wearing a red lip and looked so killer. Something that goes hand in hand with the makeup is a tinted moisturiser or fake tan. Especially on your first day of holiday I hate being so pale, so a tinted moisturiser is my best friend! I usually opt for the Palmers Cocoa Butter Tanning Moisturiser – it smells fab too!
I know this was a very short but sweet post but I hope you all loved it nonetheless! If you are also struggling with your body confidence then remember that no matter what your weight, gender, sexuality, nationality you are gorgeous how you are and one day it won’t always be this tough. If you have any tips then be sure to leave them in the comments below! As always, thank you for reading angels.
Until next time,

You are beautiful and beach perfect already. No need for some stupid crash diet. Enjoy life! So excited for you guys, Greece is one of my fav destinations and I always get the best tan there. I’m pale AF and quite enjoy seeing the transition to tanned on me so I never use fake tan lol

You are gorgeous inside and out! Petite girls FTW haha! Girls naturally put pressure on themselves and it is sad, we are all different sizes and shapes and it’s all about confidence at the end of the day. If you’re enjoying your holiday and you’re comfortable in a bikini, it will show! x

Aww you are just as lovely, if not more! Stressing yourself out about the holiday can ruin it I imagine. I wish people didn’t compare themselves to other people as much x

I am so jealous – I really want to go to Greece! I really hope you take lots of photos so I can live vicariously through you.
I think you look stunning. Something I have learnt is that we all want what we do not have – skinny girls want bigger boobs and bum and bigger girls want to be skinny – it is a no-win situation! I am so guilty of feeling the need to shave all the time but honestly, everyone else is so worried about themselves, no one notices you. xx

I love this post and you so much!!! (Also 5’1 lol shorties are the best 🤷🏻♀️) Super excited for you, sounds like it’ll be a great holiday but I know that feeling of beach body anxiety – I wore high waisted bikinis and got quite a few cardigans/shoals/oversized shirts to help cover up!! Can’t wait to hear about your holiday gal 💖💖

Fab post! I wanted to rock the one-piece look so badly last summer that I bought a bunch online and returned all the ones I could when none of them fit (still trying to sell the ones I couldn’t return). I came to realize, to my disappointment, my body just isn’t shaped for a one-piece. I’m a much different size up top than I am on the bottom, so I guess I’ll be 2-piece shopping this season lol I tried!

Thank you so much for reading lovely!! I love hearing your thoughts. A one piece is so hard to get right, I’m so short so one pieces are always a little too long haha! xx

I love your perspective on this topic, Chloe!! 💛P.S. You are absolutely beautiful and a lovely person, girl! Your writing is always so encouraging and positive!
The message of this post is just so great–we are seriously already “beach body ready!” I used to dread bikini shopping and always struggled to find bathing suits that I liked. I still get nervous about it all, but as I’m getting older, I’m starting to learn that I need to love myself for who I am! 💓It’s so important to speak kindly about yourself and treat your body well!
I love the idea of a high-waisted bikini bottoms. They always look SO cute! Also, the bold lip and mascara will definitely give such glamorous vibes at the beach!
Amazing post, as always! x

Thank you so much for the lovely comment and for sharing your story!! Reading comments like this makes it all worthwhile, so thank you so so much girly! Buying bikinis is ridiculously stressful no one needs the pressure of looking a certain way in them, we should all be allowed to just look whatever way we want and not fit into a stereotype!! Thank you so much once again gorgeous xxx
