Girl Power

Hello honeys, I am back today with a cute little post (potential series, but you know what I am like), all about the female relationships I have in my life and why it’s okay to have a small little girl gang. Considering it was International Women’s Day last week, I feel like this is the perfect time to have a sit-down and ramble about how cool women are and give a few little shoutouts to the fab women in my life.

I have to start with someone you all know and love, Phoebe. My best friend and the best and worst influence in my life. And by the worst I mean she gets me crazily drunk and dances with me like there’s no tomorrow until we are practically crawling home with our heels in one hand and cheesy chips in the other even though I warned her that we should only have one or two drinks as were busy the next day. We still haven’t managed to learn when enough is enough yet and how to have civilized drinks (and I absolutely love her for that). If you don’t know the story, we met at Scribbler and worked behind the tills spending all day gossiping and having endless laughs and even though that job was pretty shit, getting a best friend out of it makes me so grateful to have ever worked there. This girl has supported my blog, my career, helped me with every bad decision I have made and has genuinely helped my confidence and anxiety so much. I love you tonnes Phoebe, my fellow blogger, coffee lover, and dance partner.

Now onto my other best friend who you also all know. Chan. She is my oldest friend and more like a sister than anything else. Me and Chan went to school together so we have been besties for a good part of 8 years and I know that one day she will be my maid of honour and the woman I cause havoc with, in an old people home. She has stuck by me through my emo phase, all of my bad hair choices, listened to every single bit of boy drama and helped me when my depression was as its lowest. I honestly don’t think I would’ve survived school without this girl. Even though I don’t see her as much as I would like to (I miss and love you Chan), we always have the best time together and have had so many amazing trips away like Birmingham, London and Brighton and this year we have booked a week away to Greece which will be so so lovely. Thank you for being my little travel buddy, fellow tequila-aholic and soul sister – life wouldn’t be complete without you!!

Now onto my newest friend, Michaela. She is also a close friend I met from work (my current job) and this girl is SO much like me it is crazy. Even though I have only known her for a month I feel so close to her already and I know that she will always have my back like I have hers. I am a pretty weird hyper person (especially if coffee is involved) and so is she, so when we are together I feel sorry for people who are around us, especially Tom because we are on a whole other level of hyper. She has made my days at work so enjoyable and I feel like when it comes to colleagues you become huge over-sharers and nothing is too embarrassing. I am sorry Michaela that now you know my sex life, embarrassing moments and when I need to go to the toilet. Thank you for always fuelling my coffee addiction, never failing to make me laugh, and for all the little empowered women pep talks. You are one of the strongest girls I know!

Now onto my nan, she is my biggest inspiration and definitely someone I aspire to be. She has the biggest heart but is still a ballsy fearless woman (probs where I get my sass from). Every Monday, during my childhood and teens, was spent at my nan and grandad’s house and they would always take me either to school or to my guitar lessons and be the biggest supporters as well as cooking me the biggest roast dinner afterward. My nan is the stereotypical nan that bakes cakes with you, teaches you how to knit and goes to the car boot sales with you and I love it so much. Not only is she the best nan, but the best woman. She is constantly raising money for charity as well as volunteering at the hospital to help feed the patients each week and takes theย visually impaired and disabled to church as well as managing to look after us lot. I don’t know how she does it, but she’s bloody amazing.

Lastly, you guys. You are all the most badass bitches that have helped me make something of myself. Without you, I wouldn’t have been able to get my current job in social media and marketing. Without you, I wouldn’t have an amazing creative hobby. Without you, I wouldn’t have the confidence to take awkward full body outfit shots. Without you, I wouldn’t have had the opportunity to meet lovely lovely lovely friends. So thank you so much, you are all the best. But a special thank you to my top commenters, Just Hannah Here, Kittyp0p and Chloe Luna – you’re always so supportive. Love you!!

I hope you all enjoyed this not so little post, I will soon be doing a similar post but all about the male relationships in my life. Have a fab weekend angels, thank you for everything.

Until next time,

This is so adorable to read and you’re so blessed to have a close-knit girl gang! I have a tough time keeping friendships after high school but this year, I’ve felt so loved by the girls in my group that is pushing me to become a better friend and I’m super happy to be accepted into their girl group.

It’s such a nice feeling to have the support of other girls!

It is so cool how you have met all of your 3 friends so differently – through work or through school and yet managed to stay in touch with all of them. xx
