Happy Friday my loves! I am so relieved that June is on our doorstep as May has really kicked my ass and I am so glad to see the back of it. Another reason why I am so happy to see the back of May is that it is my birthday month and I have so many exciting things planned so stay tuned for good content coming your way! Now onto today’s blog post, May’s favourites (it’s becoming a tradition to upload these every two months) and the theme for this months favourites post is self-care and best friends!
Nights Out
I am so blessed to be surrounded by lovely people, my friends really have picked me up when I have fallen this month. But a special thanks to Phoebe, our day trips and nights out has made me feel so much better and gotten me through this rough patch so I really do owe her a lot. Last weekend I squeezed into one of Phoebes old uni dresses and got a little too drunk and we danced until the clubs closed and ended our night with cheesy chips and having heart to hearts.
Another night to remember was in April, but definitely too good of a night to not include and it was spent with my lil angel Michaela. We started our evening in Tapas Revolution, a cute independent Spanish tapas restaurant in Bath then ended up in The Botanist, which is the prettiest freaking place ever. The Botanist is a fairly new bar that has just opened up on Milsom Street and is such a photogenic bar; it is complete with ambient lighting and an array of plants. There was even live music in the corner! For once in my life, I was a classy bitch and had prosecco and got way too drunk for a work night haha!
Thank you both for picking me up and not letting me fall, I love you both tonnes.
Full Coverage Makeup
Having makeup that will stay put and not budge has been a necessity this month and my favourite beauty product has to be the Maybelline Super Stay foundation. It is full coverage and stays matte without looking flat and along with the Collection setting spray my makeup lasts all day!
Bestie Holidays
I am repeating myself in this post I know, but it wouldn’t seem right to not include Greece in this blog post as it was such a good and eventful trip. Me and Chan have been on many trips and this was our first abroad holiday and I am sure there will be many more to come. If you want to read all about what we got up to, it will be linked here.
Self Care
I have been trying so hard to take care of myself this month, mentally and physically and I have discovered some staple products this month that I will keep in my self-care routine. A few weeks ago Phoebe made me a little pamper pack – get yourself a bestie as good as mine. In my pamper pack she kindly gave me the Garnier Fresh-Mix Tissue Mask (which is bloody amazing), the Cheer-up Buttercup bath bomb from lush and Malteasers Truffles. You can always rely on Lush for the best bath bombs ever and what an appropriately named bath bomb for how I am feeling haha! It smells of zesty lemon and neroli and has a glittery centre – what a fab surprise even if the glitter stained my bathtub haha. Huge thanks again to Phoebe for being the ultimate babe.
Work Work Work
Even though I go through so many phases of being like ‘oh wow, work is so stressful I can’t handle it‘ to ‘I am so lucky to have such an amazing job, this doesn’t even feel like work, I love it‘, I genuinely am so pleased I have my job. I get given so many opportunities even though I am not the most experienced. My boss has believed in me since day one and it has really helped my confidence and motivation to do well.
Lemonade
So as you know, discovering I was cheated on in my previous relationship has been a pretty big thing to try and recover from this month. But I have been channelling my inner Beyonce and have played Lemonade on repeat and it is giving me all the badass vibes, I think if Queen Bey could get over it, then surely I can? I think my favourite songs from that album are Don’t Hurt Yourself, Hold Up and Sandcastles – they all hit me right in the feels.
Overall May has been a bit of a crazy one. But I am trying to remember that when there is rain, there are flowers and to trust the magic of new beginnings. Thank you to my girlies who have had my back this month and also thanks to you all for sticking with me and supporting me.
Until next time,

Always love your posts, Chloe- your photos are so aesthetically beautiful (as are you!) and your writing is so honest. It’s refreshing! I loved reading your reflections from the past couple months- what wonderful adventures & great friends in your life. Also, I loveee Spanish Tapas!! That place you went sounded spectacular.
Ohhh that Cheer-up buttercup bath bomb sounds wonderful! I have been in such a bath stage – and I tried other bath bombs that weren’t lush that were not even near as good in scent. Lush is where it’s at!
Yass girl- you channel that Beyonce!!!
Thanks for sharing- so loved reading this post as my little study break 🙂

I’ve always heard such wonderful things about Maybelline Superstay Foundation and I can’t wait to try it after I’m all done with mine! Oh gosh, Greece, is sooo beautiful, how lucky you got to go with your bestie! Which Garnier Fresh-Mix Tissue Mask do you use? It seems like such a hassle but isit worth it? And i think its totally normal to teeter back and forth about work because ya know its WORK, HAHA, but your gratitude for it is a positive outlook! Hold up is such a good song right! And the music video is so cool! To an even better June! 🥂

Thank you so much for the super sweet comment again! You are such a queen!!! Superstay really is an amazing foundation, I keep going back to it and don’t see the point trying anything else, it’s amazing! I love tissue face masks, they’re so effortless. Whether they have the same benefits as normal masks i don’t know. But it is a lot easier! YES to Beyonce!! She’s an icon!! Thank you so much again for the lush comment, you’re a babe! Xxx
