Happy Halloween bitches (if I manage to get this post up on time), I am back with a little short but sweet post. I am so excited that it is finally time to celebrate Halloween. As you are reading this I will be getting for a night out with Phoebe and if you have been following me for a while then you will know that last year we both celebrated in style. I say style, what I mean is, slutty, and it was the best and most empowering night ever. So to answer the question in the title. Yes. It is definitely okay to dress slutty on Halloween.

In my normal day to day life, I don’t dress very revealing or slutty until the occasional night out occurs and especially on Halloween. Last year me and Phoebe celebrated the spooky season in Bath and it was definitely a night to remember. We were basic bitches and dressed in the most cliche slutty outfit, a nurse. But oh my god, it was the best night ever and I have no shame in saying that we looked amazing and felt so confident.
There’s a lot of controversy around girls dressing up slutty on Halloween. People assume that we are dressing up sexy with the intentions of hooking up a guy, but in reality, we are dressing up for OURSELVES. Don’t get me wrong, if you want to have a one night stand then I am throwing no shade and that’s totally cool, but you’re allowed to dress slutty even if you aren’t interested in hooking up. When I went out last year it was just after I got out of a relationship, so I think everyone assumed I was just dressing slutty as a way of spreading my wings and letting go. But to be honest, I would most likely dress the exact same way this year.
I recently asked Harry for his opinion on my nurse outfit from last year and whether he’d let me wear that out and his response was a simple shrug and ‘why wouldn’t I let you? You wouldn’t ever stop me wearing what I want‘ and that’s so true. At first, I was thinking ‘wow, how sweet’. But really it’s normal. We need to break the stigma around girls needing permission from their other half to wear what they want.
Let’s be honest, its fun dressing up – I love everything about Halloween! As me and Phoebe walked to the club last year we obviously heard a few remarks and wolf whistles, but as soon as we were in the club and surrounded by everyone else in fancy dress there were no negative comments or judgement. Everyone was just happy to be there and complimenting each other, whether someone was dressed as a spooky witch or a slutty cat, it was just positive and appreciation.
So what I am trying to say is that you can wear what you want and you don’t need to be single and looking for sex to have permission to dress slutty. I hope everyone is having a fabulous Halloween, please let me know what you are dressing up as in the comments below!

Like you say people should be able to dress how they want and dress for the occasion! Your nurse outfit last year by no means looked ‘slutty’ – I think it’s more about what some people associate with dressing up and role play that makes it sexual when the majority of people dress up at Halloween for fun or because they’re going to a party not to attract attention. I also couldn’t stand being with a guy if he told me what to wear or what not to wear x

Screw what anyone else thinks, if you feel happy and confident I think that’s all that matters ✨ I think as women we can be scary and look hot at the same time, also we don’t need men for that it’s our bodies at the end of the day. Love this so much !! Completely agree with everything you said here, especially about you thinking that what Harry said was sweet when actually, it’s just normal. Such an important point for women to realise! Too often we see men giving us basic respect as something that needs to be celebrated because we can’t believe how “nice” they are when actually, they’re just giving us the bare minimum of what should be expected! Omg yes this this this! I would never ask my partner for permission to wear something. My body not his! And if he doesn’t like it, thank u next! People see it as an honour these days when a guy is nice or someone doesn’t cheat on them etc, it’s horrible!!! The standards are so low, people think the bare minimum is exceptional! Slutty has such a negative connotation to it. You were just dressing sexy and owning the fuck out of your femininity! Also good on Harry for not being a controlling asshole, i know some girls find that controlling bs cute but urghhhh.

I remember your costumes from last year (oh how time has flown!) and thinking that they looked incredible! I definitely agree that you should be able to wear what you like without judgement or what your significant other will think because it is your choice after all what clothes you choose to wear.
