Even though Christmas is now over I am excited that 2020 is quickly approaching. Most people I talk to always complain about January blues, but I am my happiest at the start of the year and I defo fit the blogger stereotype of ‘new year, new me’. For today’s post, we are going old school and I will be talking about what I have been loving this month and how I feel.
I absolutely adore Christmas time because everyone seems so much happier and all the parties and get-togethers are just so lovely. This month I have been the busiest I have been all year and one of my fav outings was with work – well I say work, it was more of a double date with my work bestie Carole and her boyf and Harry. We visited a little nearby village for pizza and beer and it was so much fun to socialise outside of work and get into the festive spirit.
Another party that was just as fab was our annual family get together, where we all meet up for a Christmas meal with the whole entire family, but this time Harry was by my side. It’s very rare I spend time with my extended family, so it was so lovely to eat good food and get drunk with my fav people.
Gucci Card Wallet
So this Christmas I was officially the luckiest girl in the world and my bestie, Phoebe, gifted me the prettiest purse in the world. We met up mid-December for brunch at The Ivy in Bath to catch up and exchange gifts and she warned me not to freak out then pulls out a freaking Gucci carrier bag, so as you can imagine I freaked the fuck out. It is the most gorgeous cardholder and I feel such a queen. It has four card slots with the iconic GG logo on the front and is made from the softest leather – ahhh, so obsessed.
I have been so up and down with blogging recently, as you all know, and this month I have re-discovered my love of content creating and it feels so good to get back into the routine of weekly uploads. Also, I know this post is about December, BUT November was such a good month for my Instagram and was probably the only time I have ever been proud of my feed. Next week I have an exciting collab coming with JustHannahHere and I cannot wait to get back into working with other creators – if anyone else is interested in collaborating, please hit me up!
Starting with Afterlife – This is the second, maybe even third time I have watched this series, it’s one of the ones that you just can’t stop watching. If you are living under a rock then Afterlife is directed and acted by Ricky Gervais, the most offensive yet hilarious comedian. Long story, very short, the show is about Tony’s life going from perfect to not so, when his wife passes away and his journey back to happiness. So although this is a comedy, it also tugs on the heartstrings. 10/10 would recommend.
The next show I (and everyone else) has been obsessing over is You. The second series of You was released about a week ago and me and Harry have nearly finished it already. If you like a show full of suspense and creepy hot stalker men, then this is definitely for you.
I made a pledge to myself four months ago after a nail disaster to never get acrylics again. But what have I done? Got acrylics and I am so in love with them. I feel more myself when I have a set of fake nails on, especially when they are ombre.
December was a bit of an odd month for me, full of good and bad. It started off amazing in sunny Bournemouth with Chan and then ended also amazing with Christmas, but the middle wasn’t so great. On my blog, I am always very transparent with my mental health and I want to raise as much awareness as possible, but I feel quite reluctant to admit that I was so sad during a time I should be at my happiest. I visited the doctors this month for the first time since 2018 and I am now on new anti-depressants, which have crazy side effects. I am just hoping that things start to look up soon and 2020 will be a much better year for my mental health.
Thank you for reading my little rambly post, I hope that December treated you well. Lots of love as always.
Until next time,
