My all-time favourite posts to read and write are ‘follow me around’s’, call me nosey but I find it so interesting having a look into someones life and what they spend their day doing. So for this weeks post, I will be talking all about my Saturday I spent in Bath with Phoebe – it was such a fab day out and was just what I needed after a drama-filled week!
I am starting this post off with a bit of a negative, I have just found out I am possibly being made redundant and to be honest I loved my job and I am so gutted. Like most, I wanted to start January off on a good note and really smash 2020, but I guess everything happens for a reason! At the moment I am spending a lot of time at home job hunting and catching up on blogging which means I am a bit down and in need of serious girl time. So last Saturday I met up with my bestie Phoebe and we had a spot of lunch and a much-needed pep talk.
Our bestie date started off in a cute cafe called The Provenist and we gossiped and indulged in the tastiest buckwheat pancakes. I opted for berries and yoghurt on my pancakes and Phoebe had the almond butter and banana – it’s safe to say I need to go back to try the almond butter one! I have written about this cafe before so if you want an in-depth review, click here. The Provenist is one of my favourite hidden gems of Bath, their menu is so sustainable and you notice a lot of local suppliers on the menu too!
After brekkie and a good girl chat, we had a look around the shop that is connected to the cafe, Neptune. Neptune is the prettiest freaking shop ever and reminds me of a very posh IKEA haha – there are lots of showrooms that you can only dream of having in your own house.
One of my favourite things about meeting up with Phoebe is that I always come home with 1000 new photos and lots of blog post ideas – perks of having a blogger bestie. We made our way to our favourite photoshoot spot and took lots of snaps that you may have noticed on our Instagram. My outfit is admittedly little out of my comfort zone for just a day trip in Bath as the skirt was a tad too short BUT it is so cute. My leather skirt is from Topshop and my long sleeve top and boots are from Primark – we all know I love a Primark bargain.
Due to my possible lack of employment, I didn’t buy much in the shops and stuck to window shopping! However, I did treat myself to some new hair clips from Accessorize in their 70% off sale. For so long I have swooned over cute clips and how adorable they are but I never really knew how to style them and even questioned if I was cool enough to pull them off, but for £1 each, I couldn’t leave them on the shelf! (As I am editing this, I can confirm that the clips look hella cute and I am in fact cool enough).
If you read last weeks post you will know that I am trying to read more and spend less time on my phone, so I used the Waterstones voucher my lovely friend treated to me and bought Hidden Bodies by Caroline Kepnes which is the sequel to You (the Netflix series we all can’t get enough of). If it lives up to the expectations of the series I will defo let you know!
Thank you for reading and I hope you liked this follow me around and mini haul! PS. I have a few interviews lined up for next week so hopefully, by my next blog post, I will have some exciting news (keep your fingers crossed).
Until next time,

Oh girl I can totally relate to being made redundant- it’s happened to me pretty much twice!! The first time I had an amazing redundancy check, this time it doesn’t really count as redundancy because I chose to quit at the beginning of this month however the store I work in is shutting on Friday- I could have potentially been transferred to another store however that would have meant a long long commute every single day which I just wasn’t feeling at all so yeah- I left! The best advice I’d say is to just apply for any and every job but also, enjoy the time you do have off to focus on other things (if you don’t get into employment straight away)! Use it to focus on your blog, reading etc whatever but apply anywhere and everywhere so you have a job to go to etc! Don’t worry hun, the right thing will come up for you ❤️ And if you can’t find anything permanent immediately, you could join an agency! There’s office agency’s and beauty agency’s, and these could open doors for you for permanent work too! Good luck with next weeks interviews Queen, you got this!
I love follow me around posts too, they’re so chilled and chatty, you’ve actually inspired me to do one 😛 maybe next month hehe!!
Your outfit is so cute, it’s a shame the skirt was a little too short because I know that can feel so uncomfortable however you look so amazing Queen, you rock it!!
Those hair clips you purchased are adorable! And you’re totally cool enough! Glad you’re loving them!
Hope you enjoy your new book! I love the tv series so I‘d definitely be interested to hear what you think of the books!
Thanks for sharing Chloe, enjoy your week ❤️
