A Day In The Life – WFH Edition

After nearly seven whole weeks since I last uploaded, I have blown the dust off my laptop and reopened WordPress and it feels weird – I feel like I have left it way too long and I don’t really know if anyone will still be here. But if you are, then hi, thank you for checking in. Today’s post is going to be a chatty day in the life post so I hope you enjoy!

What a rollercoaster 2020 has been, personally there has been a few achievements and happy moments to cherish. But overall it has been such a heartbreaking six months and I truly hope we all come out of this stronger. Since the end of March, I have been working from home and let’s be honest, that’s been so tough since I am still very new to the job. But I am so grateful I am able to work in the safety of my own home and still have the stability of a job. If you are a keyworker, then I take my hat off to you. You are amazing!

8:00

Every Monday to Friday my day starts at 8:00 when I roll out of bed into the front room to start my working day. For those who don’t know, I am an administrator for a property maintenance company so a majority of my job is booking in appointments for electrical and building work, as well as website editing, social media and general admin. With a cuppa by my side and some brekkie, I start my day off answering emails.

12:00

I am lucky to get an hour lunch break, which is either spent with my head in a book or playing Animal Crossing. Recently I have been obsessed with making pancakes, which is definitely an upgrade to the typical sandwich I would usually eat at work. About a month ago I treated myself to a Nintendo Switch, just for animal crossing and yes it was the best £200 I have ever spent haha! However, my island still looks super rubbish, so I think a few more hours played and island tours on youtube are needed before I post any AC content on here. If you are looking for a good Animal Crossing blogger then Sophie Mags is your gal – she is linked here.

Once 1pm hits, there is probably a large chance that I am still in my PJs, either that or joggers and one of Harry’s hoodies. If you are working from home also and say that you still make an effort every day, I am sorry but I so don’t believe you one bit. Although I miss dressing up nicely every day, I don’t think my lazy attire will be changing anytime soon.

5:00

Finally, it’s home time! As Harry is in the hospitality industry, his hours have been majorly reduced and is currently only working for takeaway service only, which means I have been very lucky to spend so much time with him and we are actually able to eat dinner together regularly – if your partner works in hospitality then you will know that dinner and evenings together are very rare. We usually take it in turns of who is cooking, but at the moment I have been opting for vegetarian alternatives, which means me and Harry end up bickering in our little kitchen whilst making meat and veggie versions of meals haha – It’s safe to say we would be awful chefs as multi-tasking isn’t our forte. Tonight’s dinner of choice was a large bowl of veggie spag-bol – what a classic.

6:00

As the evening is starting, it is time to catch up on some house chores and start my nighttime routine. Tonight’s chores were only wrapping some birthday presents, washing up and a little bit of ironing – don’t you just love being an adult? I have actually uploaded an in-depth night time routine, if you are interested then it is linked here! As it was a chilly evening, I treated myself to a bath.

Once all the chores are completed and I have done my skincare routine, it’s time to light a few candles and snuggle up on the sofa and watch some TV with Harry. Netflix has released some amazing films recently – tonight we watched Obsessed with Beyonce (yes who knew she acted) and Idris Elba (thank me later ladies). It is such an easy watch thriller!

I hope you all enjoyed my very boring Day In The Life! As I said earlier, I am very blessed to be able to work from home but I do miss being in the office with the team – I even miss the commute to work every day! How are you all doing? Have you been working from home?

Until next time,

Mmm this is a wonderfully simple post and your pictures are so beautiful! I had totally pegged you as someone who would get dressed up and put on makeup hahaha! I literally haven’t worn anything decent in 2 months yeesh!

Haha I wish I was one of those people who are always glam!! But no I so don’t have the motivation to get glam for myself every day, it is going to be so weird when we are back to normality and have to wear clothes that aren’t loungewear! Thank you for reading and commenting honey, I really appreciate it xx

I miss the working from home life a little bit, not gonna lie! I got dressed every work day and the day I was going to work in my pyjamas I had a video call so ended up getting dressed and putting makeup on haha.

It’s nice that you and Harry have been able to spend quality time together ❤

Oh no you poor thing, there is nothing worse than having to rush getting ready for a video call!! I feel like everyone has struggled so much in their own way, I sympathise for those with young children that need to be homeschooled. Thank you for taking the time to read and comment honey xxx

It is nice to see you are back blogging also – I have found it so hard to find the motivation to create content during lockdown. It is going to be so odd when we go back to normality and having to get glam haha! Thanks for reading lovely! xx

But yess I do like to make an effort on Saturday’s but the majority of the time I look like I have just dived straight into a bush hahah. I am currently furloughed still so it is all a bit weird still buut I have loved being at home and just not being stressed at work. I am looking at new jobs though so fingers crossed for that! xxxxx

Ahh thank you so much gorgeous, you are always so kind!! Im so torn between whether I am jealous of all the furlough workers or whether I am grateful I have been working throughout lockdown. It is nice to have a routine still but god I wish I could be in the garden during the hot weather with a book and bev! Goodluck on the job hunting lovely, I have my fingers crossed for you. Thank you so much for reading and leaving such a thoughtful comment xxxx

Welcome back! I cannot remember the last time I uploaded a blog post either so you are not alone. Definitely enjoying reading everyone else’s blog posts more than writing my own at the moment. I am still going into work and have throughout the whole pandemic so my daily routine has not changed that much over the past few weeks except to get busier at work – I am jealous of those who get to either work from home or are on furlough because having a mini lie-in and being able to work from your sofa or bed sounds like a dream but also I am positive the reality of it is not as nice! xx

Hi honey! It has definitely been such a confusing time with uploading recently, content creating has been so tough with all the worry and uncertainty in the world. However, it is nice to know that I am not the only one who has been struggling with uploading and finding their blogging mojo! I understand what you mean, at the beginning I was also a bit jealous of those who were furloughed whilst I was working. But I am sure they are also jealous of those who worked haha! Thank you so much for reading and commenting honey – I hope you are staying safe at work xx
