As we are waving goodbye to the third UK lockdown we are finally able to pencil more things into the calendar and normality can resume. Although lockdown has been tough for us all, I can’t complain too much as it has given me and Harry our beautiful Poppy, but it’s going to be so nice to get back into a normal life and actually socialise again! In today’s post I’ll be sharing what’s on my post lockdown bucket list – I hope you enjoy.
Attend baby classes
Pop is now 3 months old and has started properly interacting with toys and is so eager to play and learn, which means attending baby classes is the most important thing on my to do list! Not going to lie, I’m so nervous to go there and try to mingle with strangers but I know that Poppy will love it so much and the nerves will be all worth it when I see her little happy face.
Have a family staycation
Sadly me and Harry have never actually had a holiday or weekend away in our two years together, we have always been too busy with work and when we did actually book a trip to the Cotswolds, the second lockdown was announced! So arranging a city break is definitely needed – I don’t think an abroad holiday is on the cards for at least another year.
Have a boozy evening in Bath
There’s nothing more that I miss about pre-covid life than being sat on a rooftop bar in Bath with Phoebe sharing bottles (yes plural), bottles of Prosecco. I cannot wait for a girly drunk evening in the sunshine!
Visit the zoo
I remember when I was pregnant and shopping for baby clothes I bought an adorable safari dress with the intention that one day she will be wearing it to the zoo and I absolutely cannot wait to make that a reality. I loved going to Bristol Zoo as a kid and can’t wait to go back but this time with my own little family.
Get my haircut
It’s been an embarrassingly long time since I stepped foot into a salon. My awful post partum snapped hair (yes that’s a real side effect) is in desperate need of a cut.
Explore local cities
I’m so lucky to be surrounded by so many gorgeous villages and cities, but very guilty of not making the most of my surroundings. When I was younger I always used to go on days out with my grandparents to so many different places and they’re one of my favourite memories that I want to recreate with Poppy.
Brave the shops and revamp my wardrobe
I don’t think I’ve properly been clothes shopping in well over a year and if I’m honest, I don’t really know what my style is anymore. I’m a bit nervous about heading back into busy shops (with a pram as well) but I know having new clothes that actually fit my post pregnancy body will give me the confidence I’m lacking right now!
Go on a baby free date night
Although Poppy is the centre of my universe, there are times when I miss spending quality time with just Harry as a couple as opposed to as parents. I still haven’t braved being apart from Poppy yet, but once I do I really want to arrange a monthly date night with Harry – I really miss him being my drinking partner!
Until next time,
I hope you get to have your little family staycation and start your date nights again soon! It must be nice to have a bit more freedom now the lockdown has ended 🙂 once you get your hair done and treat yourself to some new bits of clothing I’m sure you’ll feel your confidence grow! You need to take a picture of Poppy in her safari dress at the zoo, it sounds utterly adorable xx
